News around the COVID-19 Coronavirus is changing daily. Like you, we’re monitoring guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) and the Connecticut Department of Public Health and how it will affect upcoming BOMA events.
As of now, the following changes have been made to Southern CT BOMA’s upcoming events:
- March program: POSTPONED – new date to be announced
- April 22-23 BOMA 2020 Middle Atlantic Regional Conference in Albany, New York: POSTPONED- new date to be announced
- Annual Scholarship Golf Outing scheduled for June 9, 2020: POSTPONED

BOMA International releases coronavirus preparedness checklist for property managers
It is important to continue to prepare your employees, building occupants and staff for a possible outbreak. BOMA’s Guide, and Checklist, provide foundational knowledge to better understand the contagion and how to best prepare and react in a commercial building setting. Guidance for employers and tenants
For help preventing workplace exposure, evaluating risk and preparing for the possibility of a community outbreak, real estate companies and tenants should refer to the CDC’s Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers, an in-depth resource that formed the basis for BOMA International’s Coronavirus (COVID-19) Preparedness Checklist. Among other measures, employers are advised to encourage sick employees to stay home by providing flexible sick leave policies.
